My Role
- Web Developer
I worked closely with Nick Marouhos and Jordan Braun on the project to develop a unique design that captures the essence of the marketing campaign. With a background in web development, I utilized my skills in (X)HTML, CSS and Javascript/AJAX.
What I Learned
Coming from a conventional style of web designing, I appreciated the creative approach of developing a unique design. Our team of 12 people had two weeks to finish the guerrilla marketing campaign which included a poster design, video production, setting up social networking channels and the website.
We went with the approach of re-simulating the view of the poster on an internet browser. We also made a mobile version of the website so that when smart-phones access the URL, it gets redirected to a simpler design that contains the same look and feel of the pink posters.
A special feature that I implemented onto the websites was the ability to randomly generate a collection of different slogans whenever the front page was reloaded.
The result is simple but very effective for its intent to promote the CODE Live event. Although the project proposal provided a great start for the overall vision, we still had to build the style from scratch. We needed to make sure that all elements were aligned to the theme of the campaign.
